CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled (weekly reviews) SALARY: DOE REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer LOCATION: Nespelem, WA Summary: Under the limited direction and supervision of the Chief Operating Officer of Colville Fuels LLC, the Controller is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the financial operations of Colville Fuels Finance Department.
Essential Functions: • Develops and defines the overall goals, objectives, performance standards, and other related benchmarks for accounting operations in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer.
• Deliver wide range of complex accounting services including development and monitoring of operating budgets, projecting cash flow to maximize use of resources, actively participate in strategic planning and project development; includes grant writing and contract review.
Periodic financial and progress reports submitted in adherence with applicable state, federal, or Tribal regulations.
• Responsible for developing policies and procedures to provide effective oversight of the lifecycle of financial transactions including cash collections, procurement, accounts payable/payroll, inventory management, budget development, variance analysis and reporting and subsequent annual audit.
• Guides and directs internal control activities in a manner designed to protect assets, meet reporting and compliance requirements necessary to allow for effective recording, analyzing, and reporting of financial matters.
• Promptly communicates any cash flow or reporting deficiencies to Chief Operating Officer in a timely manner and recommends solutions to address such deficiencies.
• Provides periodic and ad-hoc reports to Chief Operating Officer and Colville Fuels managers.
• Responsible for aspects related to human resources management, including hiring, orientation, supervision, time and attendance, training, and development, incentivizing and motivating of finance staff, evaluating performance, corrective and disciplinary actions, etc.
• Periodically reviews and analyzes the organizational and staffing concepts/structures with the Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources Department and recommends adjustments as necessary.
• Develops or reviews and approves work schedules, ensuring the administration finance office has adequate coverage.
• Emphasizes the importance of customer service and ensures all staff members are striving towards the highest degree of customer service standards.
• Performs other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications): • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related discipline REQUIRED.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience including budgeting, audit, fintech/banking regulations, statistical and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices with the ability to read and interpret financial statements, develop budgets, and reforecast as needed.
• Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to assign projects, monitor progress, and resolve identified issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles and practices with the ability to effectively supervise, motivate, train, monitor, and follow-up with a wide range of staff members.
• Proficient in the use of personal computers and other general office equipment, including a wide range of financial software; both cloud and server-based applications.
• Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management programs is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve software and systems repair and maintenance needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Ability to provide superior customer service on a consistent basis.
• Ability to maintain STRICT confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a close team.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be eligible for company insurance.
• Must submit to and successfully clear a thorough background check, including criminal history, employment, and reference verifications.
Physical Demands / Work Environment: • Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
• Ability to frequently walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to frequently bend, squat, stoop, reach, climb and/or crawl.
