Eldergrow is looking for an Educator to serve the Nespelem, WA area.
Want to have a wonderful time with elders and play with plants, AND get paid too?
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual to provide therapeutic gardening classes and provide garden care on our mobile, indoor garden.
Casual gardening or plant-care experiences is fine.
It’s important to be comfortable working with elders at various levels of mental and physical capacities
If you enjoy gardening, helping others, flexibility when you choose to work and learning new things, then Eldergrow is perfect for you.
You work roughly 7-8 hours a month per garden and during the day to provide elders a therapeutic connection to nature by teaching fun classes using our mobile indoor garden in long-term & memory care communities.
Details: 1 garden in Nespelem, WA for about 7 hours per month.
- Part-time *independent contractor* position
- Teach 2 ‘classes’ a month
-- Inside long-term care communities (particularly for elders)
-- Apply Nature-Therapy via crafting, gardening, nature-based and culinary activities to improve lives of residents.
- Maintain indoor therapy garden (stays at the community)
- Purchase supplies & new plants for each session depending on the number of gardens and residents serving, reimbursed each month.
- Attend 1 Zoom meeting each month
- $152 monthly stipend for 1 garden with 2 classes per month
* Most communities will require COVID vaccination to work with their residents.
