On-Call Substitute

Duties: - Provide substitute coverage for absent teachers or staff members in various classrooms or educational settings - Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the absent teacher or staff member - Maintain a positive and safe learning environment for students - Implement classroom management strategies to ensure student engagement and behavior management - Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special education needs or autism spectrum disorder - Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development - Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of instruction and support Requirements: -Cleared TB test within the last year -Current First Aid & CPR for infants, children and adults -Cleared background check through DCYF (Merit) -30 Hour Basic Stars Training -Valid Food Handlers Card -Bloodborne Pathogens Training (updated annually) - Previous experience working in a classroom or childcare setting is preferred - Knowledge of childhood development and educational practices - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members - Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different teaching styles and environments - Flexibility to work on short notice and in educational settings - Ability to manage classroom dynamics and maintain a positive learning environment Note: This position is on an as-needed basis and does not guarantee regular hours or benefits.
Compensation will be provided based on the number of days worked as a substitute.
