Columbia Basin Young Life, centered in Moses Lake, is seeking a full- or part-time area director or staff associate who is ready to tackle a community ripe for the harvest! This first-time staffed area position is your opportunity to develop creative outreach to thousands of middle school and high school teens.
Moses Lake is a great place to live with four distinct seasons, abundant in watersports, fishing, hunting, biking and more! As the retail and medical hub for the region, Moses Lake has all you need, yet has a small town feel that makes building relationships all the more natural.
It is culturally diverse with two high schools, three middle schools and more than 4,100 adolescents who need the Good News of Jesus.
Responsibilities:
Building teams and being a leader of leaders.
You will invite, equip and encourage men and women to join the ministry and reach teens with the Gospel.
As well, you will build teams of adults who pray, plan, partner, provide and promote Young Life in the community.
Fostering a vibrant, healthy and caring mission community through hospitality, celebration, lament, activities and a high value priority on friendship.
Forging healthy relationships with churches, schools, civic organizations and businesses.
Creating and championing the vision of Young Life and bringing more community members in collaboration.
Developing a strategic plan for building and sustaining long-range ministry.
Bringing support to the area as agreed upon — both personal and to help the area continue to grow.
Recruiting, mentoring and pastoring abilities a must.
Qualifications:
Active, mature relationship with Jesus and His Church.
Compelled to live the mission of introducing kids to Jesus and helping them grow deep in their faith — it’s who you are.
A love for teenagers and the ability to connect with students in their space.
Strong initiative/self-motivation.
Commitment to Young Life’s Statement of Faith.
Proven leadership skills.
Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Hard working, teachable, accountable and reliable.
A desire to minister with Young Life long-term.
Technology skills and knowing the essentials of Google and social media platforms and capable of being a quick learner with Young Life’s web-based systems.
